The University Library of the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho held a three (3) day workshop for its staff. The workshop was facilitated by three (3) seasoned librarians namely Mr. Eric Amoafo, Mr. Henry Agbodza and Mr. Kwaku Marfo, all from the University of Ghana Balme Library and was attended 16 staff of the UHAS library. The training workshop, even though had no specific theme addressed issues related to the current trends in librarianship.
The University Librarian of UHAS, Mr. Christian Yaw Kofi in his opening address on the first day of the workshop encouraged participants to attach a level of seriousness to the workshop as the scheduled topics would be of great benefit.
The workshop covered areas of Institutional Repositories and Digital Preservations, Off-campus Authentication and Management of e-resources, Advanced Search Techniques, Sierra Library Management System, Use of interdisciplinary Academic Databases and Social Media Libraries. The workshop was very beneficial to the library staff of UHAS because they were equipped with insightful knowledge on trends on library management and also skills that will enable them discharge their duties effectively.
Also present at the workshop were Senior Members of the UHAS Library, Mr. Joseph Keteku who represented the ICT Directorate and Mrs. Ivy Ayivor Vierra representing the School of Basic and Biomedical Sciences (SBBS).
