Mrs. Benedicta Boadi

Mrs Benedicta Boadi is a Junior Assistant Librarian at the University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ho, Ghana. Before her appointment, she worked with the University of Ghana Library system for 17years. She started working in the various departments of the Balme library (University of Ghana Library) as a Junior Assistant Grade III, Library Assistant, and Headed the School of Nursing and Midwifery Library as a Senior Library Assistant for 7years before being transferred to the University of Ghana Law School Library for 4years. Mrs Boadi is also a tutor at the school of Distance and Continuing Education, University of Ghana – Koforidua Learning Centre where she lectures in courses such as Marketing of Information Services, Information Services and User Studies, Literature and Services for Children, Collection Development, Disaster Management Planning, Preservation of Documentary Materials, and Automation of Information Systems. She is a librarian by profession whose role is to meet the research and information needs of the library’s clientele. Currently she is with the cataloguing and classification department of the UHAS Library. She is a member of the Ghana Library Association.

EDUCATION

Mrs Benedicta Boadi obtained her secondary school leaving certificate from the Kadjebi –Asato Secondary School, Kadjebi Akan. She also holds a Diploma in Librarianship, Bachelor of Arts in Information Studies with Sociology. Master of Arts in Information studies, and Master of Philosophy in Information Studies all from the University of Ghana, Legon, Accra.

AREA OF RESEARCH

Her research interest includes library and public relations, marketing of information in libraries, user studies (Information literacy), Women’s health and breast cancer.
